Large Multi-page Mats
![]() |
3DSOM Pro now includes the capability to print large mats (across several pages) direct from the software. However if you are using an older version (v1.0 or v1.1) you may wish to download the following PDF files for printing large mats. They can also be used to print mats on printers not connected to a PC with 3DSOM Pro installed.
- 50cm diameter mat (11KB) - printed over 6 A4 pages
- 75cm diameter mat (20KB) - printed over 15 A4 pages
- 100cm diameter mat (30KB) - printed over 24 A4 pages!
Environment Maps
One of the most effective ways of making an object to look even more three dimensional is to add an environment map so that the reflections change as the object is rotated (see some of the examples). Even for non-shiny objects a subtle amount of reflection enhances the experience. The following image files can be used as a starting point - the image is never seen directly so can be very small and blurry.
The 3DSOM Pro Viewer support environment maps as described in the documentation. Save the following images (in Internet Explorer, right click over the link and choose "Save Target As...") and save to the same folder as your exported model.
Online Hotspot Editor
The 3DSOM Pro Viewer now supports "hotspots" - you can setup the page so that images or text are displayed when the mouse is clicked over a certain bit of the model. This is all controlled from JavaScript on the webpage, and in order to assist with creating the necessary scripts, we have created a free to use Hotspot Editor.
