3DSOM workshop at Computer Applications in Archaeology
March 2009
3DSOM Pro will feature heavily in a workshop at this year's Computer Applications in Arcaheology conference (CAA 2009) in Williamsburg Virginia. The workshop is being run by Douglas W. Gann (PhD) from the Center for Desert Archaeology in the U.S. - Douglas has been an enthusiastic user of 3DSOM for a number of years and has had great success in using the software to create 3D models of archaeological finds using photographs.
CAA is an international conference occuring annually. This year the conference is taking place at the University of Virginia in the USA from 22-26th March. The workshop is entitled "New Dimensions in Profile Modeling: Rapid Digitization of Archaeological Objects". Workshop attendees will find out how 3DSOM can be used to share artifact models over the internet and will learn about the Center for Desert Archaeology's work in modeling ancient ceramics. You can find out more at the workshop page of the CAA2009 website below...
The Center for Desert Archaeology is a a private nonprofit organization based in Tuscon Arizona. See the following link for more information...
