3DSOM Pro accepts images in JPEG, PNG, PPM or BMP formats.
For some models there may be a need to take additional photographs that do not have the calibration mat present. For example, a photograph taken of the underside of an object can be used to add in additional texture to a model. These can either be included in the project when it is created or added later (in which case it is useful to make their names easily distinguishable).
The Merging multiple scans tutorial describes how a second set of photographs can be used to improve the final model shape and textures.
The Adding texture underneath an object tutorial describes how additional photographs without the mat may be used to add in additional texture to a model.
